Three studies released today in the Journal of the American Medical Association offer different views on the roles of diet in cancer development. One study found Americans who ate a lot of processed and red meat had a higher risk of rectal and colon cancer; another claimed eating vegetables and fruit does not protect women from getting breast cancer, but the foods still may help protect people from other kinds of cancers; and a third study said people with high blood sugar were more likely to develop cancer.
