Developers of new biotech-enhanced products faced with regulations governing such crops around the world often have to gamble whether their product could ever be a success, but a solution to the problem may lie in New Zealand, which once banned the technology. Now New Zealand not only welcomes biotech companies, it closely regulates their work and allows its citizens to decide whether biotechs may locate in particular communities while protecting the firms against litigation.
