Babies given a formula containing probiotics -- "good" bacteria that help with digestion -- had only about half the amount of fever and diarrhea as those given regular formula in a new study. While the researchers concluded breast milk, which also has beneficial bacteria, is best for infants, an editorial accompanying the study argued probiotic products could be used to prevent stomach ailments and illnesses.
