As Americans grow familiar with synthetic cork stoppers and screw-cap enclosures on premium wine bottles, experts say fine boxed wine is next in the gradual normalization of wine drinking in the U.S. The bag-in-a-box packaging is close to an ideal way to store wine, a perishable product whose enemy is exposure to oxygen. "I'm astounded at how well people have responded to it," said Jill Beaven, owner of Tindindi, a maker of boxed South Australian wines.
