A report from the Government Accountability Office finds Medicaid does not adequately check drug prices reported by drugmakers and often overpays for the treatments. GAO officials assert drug companies are given too many ways of hiding the "best price" they charge to buyers and overcharge the Medicaid program, but they say they cannot determine how much the agency overpays.
