Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns said the EU would not be justified in imposing sanctions against imported biotech corn in the wake of Syngenta's inadvertent shipment of unapproved biotech corn to several countries. "There's just no threat to human health or plant health or animal health" from the biotech corn, he said in advance of today's EU Commission meeting expected to decide whether to suspend imports of corn gluten animal feed from the U.S.
