The New Yorker picked up five National Magazine Awards or "Ellies" (the trophies resemble elephants) at yesterday's luncheon ceremony in New York City, but the real surprise was Martha Stewart. She received an ovation from the gathered crowd of editors and advertisers when her magazine, Martha Stewart Weddings, won for general excellence among magazines with circulations of 250,000 to 500,000.
