WIC -- the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children -- needs an overhaul to put more emphasis on fruits, vegetables and whole grains, and less concentration on milk, eggs and juice, according to a report from the National Academy of Sciences. "If you look at the nutrient profiles of the current packages, they don't meet the dietary guidelines we promote today," one nutrition professor said.
