The World Travel & Tourism Council expects global travel this year to continue its post-Sept. 11, 2001, recovery and said the December tsunami had a much smaller impact on local tourism economies than the terror attacks did in the U.S. WTTC President Jean-Claude Baumgarten said that "much of the pent-up demand from three previous years of terrorism, war and health concerns has been released in a record level of travel and tourism demand."
