While trying to shift the young professional crowd's renewed interest in cocktails and wine back to beer, brewers are adopting more sophisticated, image-driven marketing strategies usually reserved for liquors. Miller's new TV ads, for example, place its beers in upscale dining scenarios, while Budweiser has switched to clear labels for its beers, including Bud Select, its new upscale beer.
