With data showing as many as 44% of Americans between the ages of 45 and 55 were caring for a child and a parent or older adult at the same time, the nonprofit groups Eldercare Locator and the National Alliance for Caregiving are working to boost awareness of the so-called "moms in the middle." The groups also are getting the word out about the various community services that can help such caregivers, including adult day care, support groups and home health services.
