New research suggests that long-term ibuprofen or aspirin may in fact increase the risk of breast cancer, contrary to previous findings. The study of 114,460 teachers found that women who took ibuprofen daily for at least five years were about 50% more likely to be diagnosed with breast cancer, and women who took aspirin daily for at least five years were 80% more likely to develop breast cancers not sensitive to estrogen or progesterone.
