Kraft Foods' Nabisco division recalled Oreo-branded cookies twice last week. The first recall was due to Chips Ahoy cookies accidentally being packaged into Oreo Thin Crisp boxes, and a second, larger recall of 838,000 boxes of the Oreo Sandwich Cookies was issued because some fillings might contain peanut cream not indicated on the label. A company statement said concern for persons with peanut allergies was the cause for the national recall on the $1 billion brand, the nation's top-selling cookie for nearly 100 years.
