A coalition of states, health plans and consumer groups is confident it will be able to gain national class-action status for Medicare Part B beneficiaries who claim overcharging by drug major companies for physician-administered drugs. A judge in Boston indicated she may consider certifying the suit involving millions of consumers and 11,000 third-party payers who claim they overpaid for 132 brand-name and generic prescription drugs.
