Stater Bros. renewed its lease for its corporate headquarters in Colton, Calif., while it finishes the development of its new headquarters in San Bernardino, which it will move into in 2008. The company also is building a distribution center.
Just under one-fifth of adults in the U.S. say they try to eat gourmet food whenever they can, according to new findings released by market research publisher Packaged Facts. The report, "The U.S. Market for Gourmet Foods and Beverages," predicts the market for gourmet food and beverages will balloon from its current $41.2 billion to more than $62 billion by 2009.
New research links the consumption of french fries in early childhood with development of breast cancer later in life. The study suggests that each weekly serving of french fries that girls consumed between the ages of 3 and 5 increased their risk of developing breast cancer in adulthood by 27%.
