Products with damaged packaging are perceived less favorably by consumers, a recent study found. Perception Research Services International also said it found that consumers thought less of the establishment itself and questioned the product's safety and quality even in cases where items were only slightly damaged.
Snack maker Lance says it has won a U.S. Bankruptcy Court auction for former competitor Tom's Foods' assets, pending approval of the sale by the court. Tom's sells snack foods mainly via convenience stores and vending machines.
