More than 100 architects, planners, developers and transportation experts are beginning week-long meetings today to consider how 11 destroyed Mississippi towns should be rebuilt; all part of Gov. Haley Barbour's plan to rebuild "the right way." Barbour is considering more walkable cities in the mold of Andres Duany's "new urbanism," with a vision of redesigned gambling areas, improved mobile homes, and a reduced profile for big box stores and eye-sore parking areas.
