Black students in the Miami-Dade school districts were five times more likely than white peers to be suspended in 2003-04 and were disproportionately more apt to be arrested by police last year, finds a new study from the civic group Advancement Project. In response, the NAACP has vowed to expose what they call "the institutionalized racism" at work in the school system.
