Weight-loss counseling provided over the phone can be just as effective in helping to drop pounds as face-to-face counseling, according to early results from a new study. The study found that subjects in a phone-based program lost an average of 23 pounds over 12 weeks and 28 pounds over 26 weeks, whereas those attending a clinic-based program lost 28 pounds in 12 weeks, but no more by 26 weeks.
