The jury's still out as to whether New York City's $70 million principals' training program is worth the money, given that of the 180 candidates who entered the Leadership Academy only 113 are now working as principals. With the program's private funding drying up at the end of this school year, Schools Chancellor Joel I. Klein has indicated he'd like to keep the academy going, but on a somewhat scaled-back basis.
