People who were breast-fed appear to have a lower risk of developing celiac disease, a condition in which wheat and gluten in the diet cannot be tolerated, according to a new analysis. A review of six studies published between 1966 and 2004 indicated that people who were breast-fed at the time when gluten was introduced in their diet had a 52% lower risk of developing celiac disease than those who were not breast-fed at the time.
