The number of online display ads served last month increased 12% over December to total more than 138 billion, according to Nielsen//NetRatings' AdRelevance division. Leading the way were financial services marketers, which accounted for 22% of impressions, up slightly from a year ago, followed by telecoms at 19%, more than double last year's 8%, and retail goods and service marketers, which totaled 16% of impressions, a small uptick from 2005.
