Greek scientists have isolated three strains of bacteria from dairy sources that could have probiotic properties applicable in the food industry. The dairy sources include raw cow's milk, feta cheese and brine, cheddar cheese and sour milk.
The Federal Trade Commission approved the $17.4 billion sale of Albertsons to Supervalu, CVS Corp. and a group of private investors. The deal is expected to close this summer, pending shareholder approval.
