Revenue for local media Web sites will reach $5.8 billion in 2006, up from $4.8 billion last year, according to "What Local Web Sites Earn," a report from Borrell Associates. The report also found that major Web companies like Google, Realtor.com, craigslist and Yahoo! are the venues for one-third of locally-spent online advertising.
