A low-calorie diet may help people live longer, according to a new study. Researchers looking at a six-month diet in which some people ate as little as 890 calories a day showed that the strict diet can reduce DNA damage associated with aging and the low-calorie intake reduced insulin levels and slowed metabolism -- two factors associated with longevity.
