The failure of a diversion tunnel on the 626-foot Campos Novos dam in southern Brazil caused an uncontrolled release of water, raising concern from international environmental groups. The dam, which is already far behind schedule, is the world's third tallest concrete-faced rockfill dam and is being built by a consortium led by Brazilian construction company Camargo Correa and engineering firm Engevix.
