MySpace receives more than its share of negative media attention regarding the possible exploitation of children online, but in fact, age verification has always been a bigger problem in the semi-anonymous world of the Web. A child has an easier time "borrowing" a credit card and ordering age-restricted materials online than he or she would in trying to buy alcohol in a store or gain access to a theater showing an R-rated movie.
