U.S. attorneys want to appeal several rulings that could hurt their criminal case against W.R. Grace & Co. and will seek to delay the Sept. 11 trial, according to court records. The government is accusing the company of violating the Clean Air Act and knowingly poisoning residents of a Montana mining town with asbestos fibers. A judge has barred the government from using certain evidence and dismissed part of the conspiracy count against the company, ruling that the statute of limitations had expired.
