A U.S. study tested two common drugs from different classes of antidepressants on 109 participants and found the drugs produced similar results for safety and effectiveness in relieving postpartum depression. The study compared a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor, Pfizer's Zoloft, and a tricyclic, nortriptyline.
