The National Confectioners Association has named Boston the first Trick-or-Treat Capital of the U.S. New England residents purchase nearly one-quarter of the Halloween candy sold in a year, a statistic that contributed, along with Boston's deep-seated Halloween heritage, to Boston's new title. This year's Halloween trends include interactive candy and Baby Bottle Pops, which turn tongues black, according to NCA spokeswoman Susan Fussell.
