While national commercial spots for the first half of the Super Bowl are all but sold out, the field for second-half ads remains open, as marketers appear to be waiting for prices to fall. Last year, Super Bowl ad rates topped out at a reported $2.5 million for a 30-second spot; CBS says it has reaped upwards of $2.6 million for a single commercial slot for the 2007 game.
