Tyson Foods will debut its "Discovery Center" next month at its Arizona headquarters. The new R&D facility will feature 19 kitchens and develop products for the company's consumer goods and foodservice businesses.
Though Gatorade is the "crown jewel" of PepsiCo's Quaker Tropicana Gatorade division, the Quaker brand has experience a 10% bump in sales and is a "pleasant surprise," Pepsi's CEO said. The company will introduce Gatorade A.M. next month and Quaker Mini Delights rice cake in the spring.
The California Milk Processor Board is trying a new tactic to entice potential milk customers by installing chocolate-chip cookie scent strips in several San Francisco bus shelters, which are also plastered with "Got Milk?" campaign posters. Retailers and food companies are increasingly using scent technology to heighten their brands.
In order to take advantage of the booming Chinese market, cereal maker Kellogg's will tailor its products to be more in line with tastes in the Asian market, where cold cereal with milk is not a popular breakfast choice.
