Multitasking teenagers spend in excess of 72 hours a week using electronic gadgets, such as cell phones, video games and Internet, a new study finds. One-third of teenagers own an iPod, and 68% have profiles on social-networking sites.
Consumer Electronics Association President and CEO Gary Shapiro and NAB President and CEO David Rehr wrote to the House and Senate leadership to discourage passage of audio flag legislation in the last days of the current session of Congress. Shapiro and Rehr wrote, "Preserving the rollout of HD Radio is of critical importance to broadcasters, manufacturers, and consumers, and we remain opposed to any mandated, legislative approach on the audio flag."
Best Buy later this month will open the doors at its first China store, which will feature salaried employees and a mix of products designed to meet local demand, including MP3 players and cell phones. The items are not normally offered at electronics stores in the country.
