Broadcast graphics software maker Chyron Corp. has teamed with Madison Road Entertainment to produce applications to spread the use of graphics to mobile-phone screens, the Web and out-of-home TV networks.
More marketing executives plan to increase their 2007 ad budgets for TV than for online or print media, according to an Advertiser Perceptions' poll of 2,400 media executives. The survey found 31% would spend more on TV over the next six months, compared with 29% for online media and 25% for print.
A poll by market research firm Evalueserve found that marketing executives were more likely to select an advertising agency on the basis of its creativity than because of its expertise in the digital space.
When Ghyslain Raza videotaped himself swinging a light saber, he embarked on one of those out-of-nowhere rises to fame that mark much of the Web. The video of the chubby boy dubbed the "Star Wars kid" became the most downloaded video in history with about 900 million views, according to a U.K. marketing company. But a columnist for The Wall Street Journal says those numbers -- like many of the metrics for Web video -- are suspect.
Analysts and investors are anticipating an acquisition push by Publicis Groupe Chairman and CEO Maurice Levy. The advertising holding company, the world's fourth-largest in terms of billing, reportedly lags behind competitors in marketing services and in interactive advertising. However, the marketing for such deals is tightening as private equity groups increasingly make acquisitions in the advertising and marketing sector.
