In an agency-wide memo, Leo Burnett Worldwide CEO Tom Bernardin blasted a column in the Chicago Sun-Times that predicted the impending ouster of Rich Stoddart, co-president of Leo Burnett North America, in the wake of account losses. Bernardin described the column, by reporter Lewis Lazare, as "mean-spirited" and "groundless." Lazare told Advertising Age he had more than one source for the information in his column, but did not otherwise comment.
