State Farm Fire and Casualty said Wednesday it reached a settlement with a Mississippi couple who filed a lawsuit related to damage to their home from Hurricane Katrina. A trial had been scheduled for April 9. The homeowners said State Farm did not fully investigate their home after the storm and denied their claim, saying the home was destroyed by flooding. "We've come to an agreement and we're moving forward," a State Farm spokesman said. "We're in a spirit of resolution on these and this is another example."
