Pakistan's president said at the grand opening of Nestle's new milk facility in Pakistan that it will aid in the fight against terrorism by preventing individuals from turning to Islamic extremism. "You are assisting the poor of Pakistan and this helps us fight the root cause of extremism and terrorism," he said to Nestle's CEO.
The $4 million Casa Sanchez company has grown from making tortillas to selling premium chips and fresh salsas and dips to retailers such as Whole Foods, Safeway and Albertsons. The company will introduce fresh tamales, burritos and pupusas this spring.
At the revamped Randalls in Houston, customers can grind their own nut butter and enjoy Starbucks coffee near a fireplace. Safeway, which owns Randalls, plans to convert all Randalls stores to this lifestyle format within the next three years.
