Italian sausage maker Olivierio "Olli" Colmignoli has shaken up the U.S. meat market with a salumeria based in Richmond, Va., that turns American pork into high-quality, artisanal sausages.
"To make a good product, you need good raw material," Colmignoli said. "You need good, happy pigs that have been given the right feed -- but mainly have been given the time to grow to a heavier-sized pig."
Sara Lee announced it will gradually cut back on salt in most of its products over the next five years. The goal is to reduce sodium by an average of 20% in products including hot dogs, deli meat, breakfast foods, cooked sausage and bread.

Minute Maid and Tropicana have been fighting slowing sales by adding new features to their orange juice, such as omega-3 and vitamin supplements. Retail prices for OJ have risen 25% in the past year, the Florida Department of Citrus said.
