Depending on the person, durian, a Southeast Asian fruit, might be described as smelling like trash, moldy cheese or rotten fish -- a fact that led to it being banned from many hotels and airlines and from Singapore's subway. Lovers of the spiky fruit insist, however, it tastes better the worse it smells -- and they're not happy a Thai government scientist says he can get rid of the bad odor.
