The mobile-phone retail industry is getting more competitive, as Best Buy, Wal-Mart Stores and RadioShack vie for the 35% of consumers who don't buy from wireless companies. "In the retailing channel, companies have different strengths," research analyst for the NPD Group Ross Rubin said. "Best Buy has a strong brand. Wal-Mart, because of their reach, is a competitor that has to be taken very seriously."
