Harris Corp. is supplying warhead replacement tactical telemetry modules for the AIM-120 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile used by the Air Force. The missiles are designed to work with advanced radar systems with long-range target detection capabilities. Under the contract, Harris will deliver 135 modules to the the Air Force.
Harris Corp.'s government communications unit has been awarded an $18 million contract from the Air Force to produce advanced fighter-jet missile telemetry. Under the deal, the company will build modules for the Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile program.
Raytheon will continue to design and produce an upgrade to its radar-guided Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile for the Air Force. The program recently encountered problems transitioning from the design phase into the production phase.
The Defense Department has announced that Raytheon Missile Systems won a $7.8 million contract modification to provide the Air Force with air-to-air missile rocket motors. The contractor will install 309 replacement rocket motors into airframes of AIM-120A, B and C advanced medium-range air-to-air missiles.
