A new survey from Kaiser Permanente found that a plurality of respondents felt that paper-based medical records were more secure than electronic records but that the benefits of e-records in a crisis would outweigh the risks. In the survey of 1,000 U.S. residents, 72% of respondents felt computer-based records were more efficient than paper-based, but 47% felt paper records were more secure.
