Bristol-Myers Squibb entered a guilty plea in federal court to charges related to an attempt to block Canadian drugmaker Apotex from selling a generic of Plavix. Bristol agreed to plead guilty to making false statements to a federal agency and a $1 million fine in what the firm said were actions of a former executive, adding there never was an agreement between Bristol and Apotex to keep the generic version of the blood-thinner off the market.
