Digital signage provider Scala has installed a digital signage network for its in-store TV channel at 180 Sainsbury's Convenience stores in the U.K. Coca-Cola, Nestle and Masterfoods will be among the companies that will advertise on Sainsbury's in-store channel.
Hilton Hotels Corp. is in a partnership with luxury goods firm LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA and a spa company in a plan to spend around $200 million to add more than 70 new spas to its upscale hotels around the globe. Spa Chakra Inc., which already manages Hilton spas in Miami and Indianapolis, will operate the spas, and the spas will feature products from LVMH.
Noble Investment Group in Atlanta is in a deal to buy six AmeriSuites hotels with a total of 754 rooms from a Global Hyatt Corp affiliate. The hotels will be converted to Hyatt Place hotels, and Noble plans to spend $30,000 per room during the conversion.
The developers of Louisville's 21c Museum Hotel and Proof are taking their hotel and restaurant concept to Austin, Texas. The 44-story Austin project will include 209 hotel rooms, 202 condominiums, 12 rental lofts, museum space, a spa and other amenities.
The Philippines should see more than $4 billion in hotel development, according to its Department of Tourism. Among the major projects on tap is a complex planned for the central business district of Makati City in downtown Manila.
