As the Fairfax County, Va., Board of Supervisors prepares to vote to commit the first installment of the county's $900 million share of a proposed Metrorail extension to Dulles Airport, the project remains highly controversial. Hundreds of people showed up at a meeting on Monday in a last-ditch effort to demand a tunnel instead of an overhead track through Tysons Corner for the project. The board responded by saying opposition to an overhead track would virtually kill the project for good.
