The new headquarters for the Washington Public Utility Districts Association in Olympia, Wash., is on track to earn the coveted LEED platinum rating, the highest green building rating ever awarded in the state. The platinum certification requires a building to generate at least 20% of the electricity it uses, and the new utility building is expected to do so with the use of 160 solar photovoltaic panels capable of supplying 40% of the building's energy needs.
