Utah may raise its 24.5-cents-per-gallon gas tax to pay for road construction and repairs. The gas tax has not been raised since 1995. "We have a motor fuel tax system that has served us very well the last 60 years," said state Rep. Wayne Harper. "However, with the increased (fuel) costs and the increases in fuel efficiency, it is not an adequate tax."
