As part of a shift within Hewlett-Packard to gauge success in its printer unit based on "share of pages printed" as well as the number of printers sold, the company has tapped singer Gwen Stefani to take part in its biggest marketing push to date. The campaign emphasizes printing's role in "self-expression" and "communication," and includes free online materials created by Stefani and other artists.
