In what may be the first lawsuit pitting avatar against avatar, Kevin Alderman, founder of Eros LLC, which offers virtual sex capabilities to users' online selves in Second Life, has filed a civil lawsuit against avatar "Volkov Catteneo" for allegedly violating the software program's copyright. The real-world identity of Catteneo, who did not return messages at Second Life, is being sought by Alderman's attorney through records of eBay Inc.'s PayPal payment service and chat logs and trade history in Second Life.
