Six adult Californians took a shortened version of California's high-stakes seventh- and eighth-grade standardized tests last week, as a newspaper explored the exams' relevancy. "It's not about remembering what I learned 40 years ago, but remembering how to rationalize," said a 55-year-old general contractor who took the sample test. "It was difficult ... but I was taught how to learn."
